METRO
Ministry, Equipping, Training & Recruiting Organisation.
METRO is an acronym which outlines the purpose of this ministry. It is not referring to metropolitan Melbourne! We work with and assist Presbyterian churches throughout Victoria.
METRO does this by seeking to apply the Great Commission of Christ (Matt 28:18-20) in making and maturing disciples of Christ who will go on to make other disciple makers of Christ.
METRO Committee
The METRO Committee has been appointed by the Presbyterian Church of Victoria (PCV) to assist and encourage the church to recruit, train and equip gospel workers for ministry in the local church context through one-to-one traineeships.
METRO fulfils this purpose through three different traineeships (METRO, YouthMETRO and EquipMETRO), each designed with a different focus and time commitment required.
The committee facilitates and provides support to the trainees, trainers and churches involved each year in the three traineeships.

METRO Administration Assistant
Since establishing the role in 2021, Maddy has enjoyed bringing her love of all things organising to assist the METRO Committee in this ministry.

Partnerships
METRO works in partnership with churches in developing a disciple-making mindset. METRO also works alongside gospel minded organisations. MTS and PYV are two key organisations we work with.
MTS
Ministry Training Strategy (MTS) works with churches across Australia training gospel workers through ministry traineeships.
The two year METRO traineeships in the Presbyterian Church of Victoria are undertaken in partnership with MTS. MTS provides the curriculum, financial structures and administrative support, as well as some training events and opportunities to network with other trainees.
PYV
Presbyterian Youth Victoria (PYV) provides camps, events and training for youth and churches around the state.
The YouthMETRO traineeship is excellent preparation to becoming a PYV leader. During the traineeship, the YouthMETRO Summer Intensive is held at the PYV Summer Camp.
